Have you been dreaming of getting a washboard stomach for a long time? Are you wondering how you can manage to get that perfect shape without buying expensive fitness equipment? Would you like to get a basic workout without paying for fancy yoga and Pilates classes? Well, how about joining a boot camp? Yes, you guessed it right. How about doing it the way the military does it?
Work it
Military men and women are super fit. There is no wondering why. It comes with the job. The truth is, they train to get to that perfect level of fitness. They don't waste their time behind fitness programs that promise to make you lose weight without really doing much. They like to sweat it. Sweating is actually good for you. It keeps your body pores breathing, which in turn is important for a vital organ in the body, the skin. A boot camp is designed like a workshop or a crash course; only, it aims to achieve definite results through highly intensive training. The idea is to take the goal seriously and provide no excuses.
Back to basics
Yoga has manifold benefits. So does Pilates. But these are techniques one needs to learn to get them right. Aerobics are much simpler. Aerobics can increase your metabolism and energy levels, as well as make you lose weight. When done regularly, they can lead to desirable levels of fitness. Think of push-ups, sit-ups and squats. Army workout thrives on them.
Cautionary steps
There are still some precautions that must be followed despite the simplicity of these exercises. Never exercise after having a meal. Wait for at least two hours. It is best to exercise in the morning, preferably outdoors, so that you can get some fresh air and automatically feel good and motivated. It is always important to do some stretches before and after exercising. These make your body limber which in turn makes it easier to exercise. Do not listen to music with headphones while exercising. Headphones are bad for your ears and brain and should not be used for more than an hour in a day. You don't need music to get motivated. Also, do not eat or drink while exercising. You may sip water, but drinking it will make your body heavier and make it difficult to exercise. Also, do not exercise at night, especially before sleep. Your body will be too energized to get the rest that it deserves at the end of the day.
The Great Indoors are fine too
You can do push-ups, sit-ups, squats and knee raises indoors within a reasonable space. A mat and trainers are desirable, though not absolute requisites. Trainers cushion your feet so that they don't get hurt from the exertion. They also don't make any noise when you are working out. Start small and be persistent. Eventually, you will love working out even more for the feel-good aspect as well as the look good aspect!
